Quick answer: As a rough guide: 9,000 BTU for a room up to about 15 m², 12,000 BTU for about 15–25 m², 18,000 BTU for about 25–35 m², and 24,000 BTU for about 35–50 m². Go one size up for rooms with high ceilings, lots of glass, west-facing windows or an open-plan layout.
Correct sizing is the most important part of an installation. An undersized aircon runs flat out and never cools the room properly. If the installation needs a new dedicated electrical circuit, it must be done by a registered electrician and certified with an electrical Certificate of Compliance (CoC). We'll tell you during the site visit if your installation needs this.
